Vitamins
Vitamins are essential organic compounds that our bodies need to function properly. They are involved in many different processes in the body, including energy production, immune function, and cell growth and division. There are 13 vitamins that are currently recognized as essential for human health, and each plays a unique role in maintaining good health. Vitamins can be obtained through the diet or supplements, and deficiencies in certain vitamins can lead to a range of health problems. While it’s important to get enough of all the essential vitamins, it’s also important not to overdo it, as excessive amounts of some vitamins can be harmful. A balanced diet that includes a variety of nutrient-rich foods is the best way to ensure that you’re getting all the vitamins and other essential nutrients your body needs.
Minerals
Minerals are essential nutrients that our bodies need to function properly. There are around 16 minerals that are recognized as being essential for human health, and they are divided into two categories: major minerals and trace minerals. Major minerals, such as calcium, potassium, and sodium, are required in larger amounts by the body and play important roles in maintaining healthy bones, regulating fluid balance, and supporting muscle and nerve function. Trace minerals, on the other hand, are required in smaller amounts, but they are still essential for good health. These minerals, such as iron, zinc, and copper, are important for functions such as immune function, energy production, and wound healing. While it’s important to get enough of all the essential minerals, it’s also important not to overdo it, as excessive amounts of some minerals can be harmful. A balanced diet that includes a variety of nutrient-rich foods is the best way to ensure that you’re getting all of the essential minerals your body needs.
